Well here we are in Nebraska for the National Homeschool Soccer tournament! I can’t believe a whole year has passed since the last time we were here. Time is just going too fast. I’m glad the season’s over because I’m exhausted from the craziness the past two months have brought, but I’m so sad because this is Alex’s last year. 🙁 I would give anything just to slow down the little time left with my kids. But for now, I’ll cherish every moment – even the ones that make me crabby! The ones that make me laugh are the ones I’ll remember when they’re gone.
So, after packing Freddy off to the vet for his own little “vacation”, off we went. Eight hours of the Iowa landscape, bathroom breaks, Diet Cokes, and then more bathroom breaks. Actually, I loved every minute of it! At one of our “pit stops” Alex bought a $2.00 laser pointer and proceeded to “point out” directions along the way. Thank you Alex. Who knows what confusion has been averted. We also listened to the first half of Josh Harris’ book, “I Kissed Dating Goodbye”. Excellent book so far! Oh, and amidst all this, Bill diligently plowed through his school work. Thank you God for distance learning!
Anyway, as with any trip out of our own state, we set out on the quest for the holy grail of fast food – Sonic! Always an adventure wondering where the pursuit will take us. I was a bit skeptical this time as we pulled up next to the “Hootch Hutch” liquor store, but hey, whatever it takes for a Sonic meal! We didn’t get mugged, and we did enjoy the delicacies only Sonic can deliver! And oh baby, they have a new menu item – the chili cheese wrap! A tortilla filled with chili, cheese, and Fritos! Does it get any better than that? I don’t think so.
Till next time,
Terri
